The National Basketball Training Center runs 100+ local qualifying tournaments across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao — one pathway that carries 30,000 players a season all the way to a 32-team National Finals.

NBTC exists to develop every athlete on and off the court. We use basketball as the tool — giving players from every province a real stage, a fair pathway, and a reason to keep showing up. Register your team and be part of the journey.

    Local qualifiers

    Around 100 tournaments run across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Coaches register their team, players sign themselves up in under a minute.

    Regional championships

    Champion teams advance to the regional stage — the last proving ground before the biggest lights in Philippine grassroots basketball.

Eligibility · Season 17

Who can suit up for the LQTs

Every player in the Local Qualifying Tournaments must clear four baseline checks. The rest of the rulebook builds on these.

  • Age cutoff

    Meet the NBTC age cutoff for your division — for Season 17 that means born 2007 or later.

  • Currently enrolled

    Enrolled for SY 2026–27 with proof from your school registrar. Out-of-school youth (ALS) included.

  • Filipino citizen

    Every player in the qualifying tournaments must be a Filipino citizen.

  • Your school sets your region

    Your current school's location decides your region — Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao or NCR. Not your hometown, birthplace or residence.

Play in multiple LQTs — same province only, no clashing dates

Current UAAP & NCAA juniors and seniors can't play LQTs or Regionals

Help a team qualify and you're locked to it for the season

NBTC Passport Lite

Registration is mandatory

Every player and coach must register before the team can compete. No registration means disqualification or a forfeited game — so lock it in early.
